But, before we can heal the world, we must first heal our own hearts - anger, fear, vanity, domination, selfishness, and resentment are barriers to world peace.
Before: In the Horn of Africa, prolonged droughts caused widespread crop failures, leaving families without food. Malnutrition rates skyrocketed, particularly among children under five.
Intervention by Orpe Human Rights:

Partnered with local organizations to distribute emergency food supplies to 50,000 people.

Established nutrition clinics to treat severe malnutrition in children and pregnant women.

Conducted workshops on drought-resistant farming techniques.
After: Immediate relief averted famine in the region, with 90% of malnourished children recovering within three months. The farming workshops equipped 5,000 households with knowledge to sustain themselves during future droughts, reducing long-term dependency on aid.
Before: Refugee camps in West Africa lacked clean water, forcing families to rely on contaminated sources. This led to outbreaks of cholera and other waterborne diseases.
